Mia's drinking straw crafts will show you how to make a gorgeous
bracelet. All you need are drinking straws and pipe cleaners. The drinking straws can be purchased from most supermarkets in a range
of great colors.
They may be called chenille stems or something similar but they are all the same product. This is just one of our fun kids crafts that will keep them busy for a while.
I have a whole range of these easy crafts to make which I will add to regularly.
The wire of the pipe cleaner will hold it's shape once wrapped around
the wrist and shouldn't fall off.
It helps to get someone else to wrap it around your wrist to get it to fit nicely.
Cut the drinking straws up into small tubes.
These will be the beads for your bracelet.
Bend one end of the pipe cleaner as shown in the diagram.
I have added the black line to make it clear.
This should stop the drinking straw beads from falling of the end.
Thread the drinking straw beads onto the pipe cleaner leaving about 1cm (1/2") of pipe cleaner at the end.
Bend the other end of the pipe cleaner as shown in the diagram to stop your beads from falling
Bend the pipe cleaner into a circular shape so that it will wrap around your wrist
Try cutting your straws into different size pieces, really small beads
will look a lot different to large chunky ones.
Make several different bracelets using different colored pipe cleaners and wear them all together.
