Most printers will allow you to print directly on to thin card. If you are using patterned card make sure that you print on the plain side. If your printer will only allow you to print on paper then there are a couple of different ways to transfer the template to card.
One way is to glue the paper template to the card you can use any type of glue suitable for paper. Spread the glue thinly across the card then lower the paper on top. Smooth out carefully removing any air bubbles. Make sure the glue is completely dry before cutting.
The other way will only work if you are printing a template that is easy to reproduce. Secure the paper to the card with tape, using a pencil and ruler if drawing straight lines, go over the lines on the template. Press hard enough to mark the card but not so hard you make holes in the paper.

You can make the circles using a compass or just draw around a glass. I have included a template with various size circles for you to print out. Cut out both of the circles. |

Draw a straight line from the outer edge to the central circle as shown in the photo. If you have used my templates you won't need to do this step. |

Keep wrapping until you have run out of yarn. Tie an overhand knot to join the next hank to the old one. Try to get the knot on the outer edge of the circle so it can be trimmed off later. You can use the same color or a different one |

Continue wrapping the yarn around the card, adding more as needed. |
Try using different colored yarn to create a layer effect. The blue and white pom pom in the photo was made by using 2 different colored yarns at the same time. We cut of two lengths from each ball of yarn and wound them around the card together. |
